Bitcoin and S&P ready to slow - Time to buy gold?

Last I updated on stocks a couple of weeks ago, I continued to suggest that the rally wasn’t over.On the weekly timeframe, the top Bollinger band target I have been suggesting as a target has moved up - as a function of the range widening. Below is an update of that chart. Do stocks have higher to go? Possibly - but at this point, the rate of ascent is at serious risk of slowing (at a minimum) in my opinion; there’s never anything wrong with taking at least some money off the table.

Where does the gold meltdown stop? Bitcoin top?

All the action I expected to happen in gold over the course of the winter looks to have been condensed into a few trading days, with a close at an all-time high on Friday and an explosive move higher on Sunday evening. Hardened gold bugs and seasoned traders in the space, however, will not be surprised (unfortunately) by the massive reversal of the gold price following that thinly supported Sunday evening pop into the unknown. How pertinent is this reversal from a technical perspective?

Gold to keep shining? US Dollar dive a tailwind for stocks, too.

A couple of weeks ago, I showed a chart of the U.S. Dollar index, suggesting a rhyme on winter 2022/2023 looked set for winter 2023/2024.Below is that weekly updated chart. The blue zone demarcates last winter. To me the most plausible point for the DXY to get relief is the bottom end of the Bollinger band at 100.9/101, approximately.

Gold and Stocks don't care about black Friday

Traders need to adapt! I couldn’t argue with price action in gold last week, and I can’t argue with it today, either. I wrote that a move to $2010 was likely; bulls fell 3 dollars short of that target this week.Still, the daily chart shows a confluence of resistance at $2010. I think the worst thing for bulls is that the price continues sideways till around Christmas. At best – a quick run to $2070 comes into view, with a convincing breach of $2010.

Bitcoin about to blastoff while Gold fuels up.

Bitcoin bulls are producing the breakout that gold bulls did not. Yesterday, I showed a chart formation in gold identical to the Bitcoin chart below, the difference being the direction of the breakout.As I have written, we cannot tell the future, but we can determine probabilities and let trendlines be a guide.
