Barbara Corcoran: For Long-Term Success, Buy Real Estate (Part 2)

Investors with a long time horizon should be buying real estate, and in particular, real estate in areas they are familiar with, according to Barbara Corcoran, real estate mogul and investor.
“If you’re in the game for a long-term investment, I feel that there’s no replacement to being wise, and knowing the real estate in your local area and buying a lot of real estate,” Corcoran told Kitco News on the sidelines of the “Three Sharks In A Castle” symposium.
The Shark Tank star added that losses in real estate investing happens when investors purchase in areas they’re not familiar with.
“I really have a belief that most people who have lost a lot of money in real estate go outside of their own backyard,” she said. (show less)
