Gold alert: Russia keeps selling gold while China keeps buying and the Netherlands move some gold teaser image

In this presentation, Jeffrey Christian of CPM Group discusses recent developments inside Russia and why they could matter for gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and global financial markets. He examines indications of political rumblings and unusual diplomatic activity involving Russian officials, the United States, Moscow, and Kyiv, while emphasizing that no one can reliably predict how Russia’s internal political situation will unfold.

Jeff also explains why Russia’s hard-currency pressures have turned its central bank into a persistent gold seller. Russia’s selling stands in contrast to the broader central bank gold market, having been buyers during the same period.

The presentation also examines the Dutch central bank’s decision to move part of its gold out of New York and Ottawa. Jeff explains why some online commentary has overstated the move and compares the Netherlands’ strategy with previous gold reserve decisions by France, Germany, and Poland.
