(Kitco News) - Gold prices are coming off their session lows on Thursday morning after the latest data showed the U.S. housing market weakening far beyond expectations in January.New home sales declined 17.6% during the first month of 2026, much worse than the expected -0.9% decrease, following a revised -1.7% drop in December, the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced.
