Turkey - Factors to watch on Feb 22

ANKARA, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday. The lira stood at 18.8730 against the dollar at 0400 GMT, little changed from a close of 18.8725 on Tuesday. The main BIST 100 share index closed 0.46% higher at 5,149.39 points on Tuesday. GLOBAL MARKETS Asian share markets followed Wall Street into the red on Wednesday as surprising strength in global surveys of services stoked fears that central banks would have to lift interest rates yet further and keep them up for longer. EARTHQUAKE Six people were killed in the latest earthquake to strike the border region of Turkey and Syria, authorities said on Tuesday, two weeks after a massive quake killed more than 47,000 people and damaged or destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes. CAPACITY UTILISATION The central bank will release capacity utilisation data for February (0700 GMT). MANUFACTURING CONFIDENCE The central bank will also announce manufacturing confidence data for February (0700 GMT). FOREIGN MINISTER Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will hold joint news conference with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Oliver Varhelyi and Sweden's Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell, who joined Varhelyi on behalf of the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council in Ankara. (1145 GMT) OPPOSITION Iyi (Good) Party will hold parliamentary group meeting (0730 GMT).
