GLOBAL MARKETS Global stock markets sagged while the Japanese yen rose on Thursday in reaction to the Fed's policy statement and signs of stress at another U.S. regional bank, spurring investors to price in a pivot rather than just a pause in rate rises.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME President Tayyip Erdogan will hold elections rallies in the northern provinces of Giresun (0900 GMT), Ordu (1130 GMT) and Samsun (1430 GMT).
INFLATION REPORT Turkish Central Bank Governor Sahap Kavcioglu will hold a news conference to present the central bank's quarterly inflation report, including its three-year forecasts (0730 GMT). The central bank will also publish its monthly price development report after data showed on Wednesday that inflation slowed to 43.68% in April (0700 GMT).
REAL EFFECTIVE EXCHANGE RATE The central bank will announce the Turkish lira's real effective exchange rate for April (1130 GMT).
FINANCE MINISTER Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati will speak at a summit in Istanbul (0730 GMT) as well as an election event in the southern province of Mersin (1100 GMT).
GAZPROM Turkey has agreed with Russia's Gazprom on deferring payment for part of the natural gas it imported after a surge in prices last year, Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said late on Tuesday.
GRAIN DEAL Russia said on Wednesday that it will keep talking to the United Nations about the future of a deal that allows the safe Black Sea export of Ukraine grain, but would not do anything to harm its own interests.
ARMENIA Turkey has closed its airspace to Armenian flights heading to a third destination in response to the unveiling of a controversial monument in Yerevan last week, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday. The United States notes "with disappointment" Turkey's announcement that it would suspend Armenian airline overflight permission, the U.S. Department of State said on Wednesday.
SYRIA A meeting of Turkish, Syrian and Russian foreign ministers could be held in Moscow on May 10, as Ankara and Damascus work to mend fraught ties, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday.
