Goldman Sachs names insider Carey Halio its global treasurer teaser image

April 11 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs (GS.N), opens new tab has named Chief Strategy Officer Carey Halio its global treasurer, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters on Thursday.

Halio, who is also the head of investor relations, had joined the Wall Street giant as a summer associate in 1999 in the credit risk division.

She rejoined the company in the same team in 2000 and went on to become the deputy treasurer of the bank and the chief of Goldman Sachs Bank USA. She earned the coveted partner rank in 2016.

Halio will replace Philip Berlinski, who is joining New York-based hedge fund Millennium Management, according to a report from the Financial Times.

Millennium Management declined to comment.

Several high-profile executives have departed Goldman in recent months, including the former head of its consumer and fintech unit Stephanie Cohen and asset management executive Julian Salisbury.
