The Porgera Mine in Papua New Guinea is operating without restriction, Barrick Gold Corp said on Monday, adding the mine has sufficient fuel on site to operate normally for 40 days.

A massive landslide in Papua New Guinea days ago buried more than 2,000 people, the government said earlier on Monday, as treacherous terrain impeded aid and lowered hopes of finding survivors.

More than 670 people are assumed to have died, the UN migration agency estimated on Sunday as rescue efforts continued.
