Highlander Silver (TSX:HSLV) aims to become the next big name in the silver space, and fill a gap in the mid-tier companies vacated through several recent acquisitions, President & CEO Daniel Earle told Kitco Mining’s Investment Trends. Backed by some of the biggest names in the business (Richard Warke, the Lundins and Eric Sprott) the company recently began a drilling program at the Bonita vein area, targeting bigger structures that those at Ayelen, where the previous operator defined a high-grade gold and silver resource. “Finding assets silver assets that have both scale and high grade is exceedingly difficult. The formation of Highlander Silver was around the concept of pooling capital, knowledge and networks to try and create something with true world-class potential,” said Earle. “Across the investment landscape, you're seeing that these go-to silver names are disappearing and that will force a rotation of capital. We want to position ourselves to be that next consensus ownership position in the silver sector,” said Earle.
