Troilus to produce over 80,000 tons of copper concentrate a year

Troilus Gold (TSX: TLG; OTCQX: CHXMF) is moving toward a construction decision after a whirlwind 12 months that included offtake agreements, a mine permit filing, and a sovereign-backed financing framework. Speaking with Kitco Mining at the 2025 Precious Metals Summit Beaver Creek, President and CEO Justin Reid said, “I think we’ve broken the back… to get to that ultimate construction decision.” Shares are up 170% year-over-year, with a market cap of C$380 million. Copper nearing US$4.60 per pound and newly included on the U.S. Interior Department’s draft 2025 critical minerals list last month, Reid emphasized Troilus’ copper focus: “we are a copper mine,” adding “99.9% of our volume is copper.” Troilus plans to produce over 80,000 tons of copper concentrate a year with precious metals credits. Financing is aligned with export credit agencies and lenders, including KfW, SocGen, and Export Development Canada, described as “AAA-rated sovereign debt with huge flexibility,” with a remaining tranche of about US$500 million targeted by year-end. On permitting, Reid aims to be permitted by “this time next year.”
