At C$850m market cap, G2 Goldfields moves into M&A spotlight

G2 Goldfields (TSXV: GTWO; OTCQX: GUYGF) is advancing its Oko project in Guyana, where a 3-million-ounce resource is set for an update by the end of October. A new discovery nine kilometers north could add 300,000 to 500,000 ounces, with CEO Daniel Noone targeting 10,000 tonnes per day of throughput and 300,000 to 350,000 ounces of annual production. “The goal is to make the scale of what can be built bigger, as opposed to drilling deeper and adding mine life,” he told Kitco Mining at Mining Forum Americas 2025. M&A has become a central focus, with Canaccord and Coremark engaged to run a formal sales process in Q4. AngloGold Ashanti’s exit from its 15% stake has opened the door for new suitors, with Noone noting that they “have a lot more interest since Anglo left the room.” G2 also plans to spin out its other Guyana concessions into G3 Goldfields, with a shareholder vote on November 27 and trading expected early next year. “Hopefully we can do G2 all over again,” Noone added.
