E.B. Tucker warns of a blackout shock and the rise of a digital-control system
E.B. Tucker, editor of The Tucker Letter, says classic capitalism is “totally finished,” replaced by a “managed economy” where markets grind higher before “a sudden panic.” Speaking with Kitco News’ Jeremy Szafron, Tucker warned of an approaching “blackout shock” that could be used to justify total digital control, forcing citizens to surrender personal sovereignty. He called this shift “the price of hope,” where “companies with no revenue see massive returns based on speculative narratives.” Tucker forecast that gold will go “really, really high,” but cautioned that governments will make it “really hard to sell” through a “massive excise tax” tied to a future “Fedcoin” system designed to eliminate tax evasion. He said the U.S. economy is being steered toward centralized oversight, while investors underestimate how quickly that transformation could unfold. Tucker also expressed surprise that “gold and silver mining stocks haven’t gone bananas” despite gold holding near $3,600 per ounce, arguing that markets remain in the early stages of a structural reset.
