Troilus Gold’s billion-dollar plan to build Quebec’s next mine

Troilus Gold (TSX: TLG; OTCQX: CHXMF) President and CEO Justin Reid says the company is advancing one of North America’s largest undeveloped gold-copper projects in Quebec, supported by $1.3 billion in financing commitments and $700 million in firm debt backed by European export credit agencies. “We need to fund a billion-dollar-plus mine,” Reid said, noting that Troilus’ concentrate offtake partnerships with Germany, Finland, and Sweden align with new critical minerals mandates in both Canada and the EU. Reid added that Troilus is also engaging Asian partners following the Canadian Critical Minerals Investment Forum in Japan and Korea, as the company finalizes its capital stack to fund construction. The 22-year mine is expected to employ over 680 people and generate more than $8 billion in tax revenue for Quebec and Canada, positioning Troilus as a key player in the global critical minerals supply chain.
