S&P to 7,500 by 2026, then a ‘lost decade’ crash after 2030 | James Thorne
Dr. James Thorne, Chief Market Strategist and Ph.D. economist, says investors should “ignore the bubble nonsense” as markets enter what he calls a “CapEx Supercycle” that could drive the S&P 500 to 7,500 by 2026. Speaking with Kitco News Anchor Jeremy Szafron, Thorne warned that the U.S. has “crossed the Rubicon” with its debt and that the Federal Reserve will be forced to cut rates below 2.75% because “we can’t take high rates.” He predicts gold will consolidate around $4,000 before moving toward $5,000 to $8,000 by 2030. Looking ahead, Thorne cautions that a “Lost Decade” crash looms after 2031 as the U.S. is forced to “write up” the gold price to pay its debt. He argues the world is now “writing Bretton Woods 2.0,” marking a structural reset in the global financial system. “Once trust is lost,” he said, “gold is the go-to trade,” adding that Bitcoin’s next breakout will be “gone in a New York minute.”
