Kinross cash surges as CEO details buybacks, dividend hike, and 2026 catalysts
Kinross Gold CEO Paul Rollinson discusses the company’s strong 2025 performance at the NBF CEO Mining Conference in London, highlighting consistent production, disciplined costs, and growing financial strength. Kinross reported 500,000 ounces of gold equivalent in the third quarter, almost 700 million dollars in free cash flow, and more than 1.7 billion dollars in cash and equivalents. Rollinson noted that Kinross became net cash on the balance sheet and increased its dividend by 17 percent, expanded its buyback program by 100 million dollars, and announced the planned redemption of 500 million dollars in 2027 notes. He said the company continues to focus on meeting guidance and maintaining a disciplined capital allocation framework. Rollinson also outlined upcoming catalysts across the portfolio. In Nevada, Kinross expects a Phase X study at Round Mountain in the first quarter and ongoing work at Bald Mountain and Red Bird. In Canada, Great Bear continues to advance through its multi stage federal impact assessment process. In Chile, Kinross plans a transition from La Coipa to the higher grade Lobo project supported by existing water infrastructure. Across all regions, Rollinson said stronger gold prices are improving optionality within Kinross’ resource base.
