First Majestic’s Gatos acquisition drives major growth and 2026 momentum

First Majestic Silver President and CEO Keith Neumeyer says the company is entering its strongest position in over two decades as the Gatos Silver acquisition drives a major step-change in scale and cash flow. Speaking with Kitco Mining at the NBF CEO Mining Conference in London, he said the deal “added about a third production to the company’s portfolio,” pushing expected output to roughly 32 million silver equivalent ounces in 2025. Neumeyer noted First Majestic now has “the strongest balance sheet we’ve ever had in the company’s history,” supported by record margins, active share buybacks, and the potential to increase its dividend beyond the current policy of returning one percent of revenues. Neumeyer also discussed planned mill expansions at Santa Elena and Los Gatos, rising exploration budgets, and the sector-wide impact of sustained silver deficits and critical mineral demand. He reiterated his long-standing conviction that triple-digit silver remains possible, saying “I’m more bullish than ever,” and added that First Majestic expects “a fantastic 2026,” with the potential to finish the year with “likely a billion dollars in the bank.”
