Aris Mining targets 500k oz in 2026 as Arbitration deal clears the path
Aris Mining CEO Neil Woodyer says a landmark settlement with the government of Colombia has removed a major overhang for the company’s flagship gold operations. Speaking with Kitco Mining at the 2025 NBF CEO Mining Conference in London, Woodyer explained that the resolution of a long-running international arbitration over access and security at Segovia and Marmato “now has a very clear legal obligation spelled out in many pages and many sub pages,” with a 10-year agreement in place with the Colombian state. Aris has also moved to 100 percent ownership of the Soto Norte project in Santander and plans to file a redesigned environmental impact assessment in 2026, supported by closer engagement with regulators and communities, including its integrated small-miner model. With Segovia ramping toward 300,000 ounces per year, the Marmato lower mine under construction and the Toroparu project in Guyana advancing through pre-feasibility, Woodyer says the company is positioning for long-term multi-asset growth from its core Latin American portfolio.
