Eldorado Gold President Christian Milau says the gold sector is entering a new phase of discipline and capital returns as prices rise and balance sheets strengthen. Speaking with Kitco Mining at Future Minerals Forum 2026 in Riyadh, Milau discusses leadership transitions across major gold miners, shifting investor expectations, and why generalist capital has yet to fully return to the sector despite record gold prices. Milau outlines Eldorado Gold’s portfolio strategy across Greece, Turkey, and Canada, highlighting the Skouries project as a near-term catalyst. He says Skouries is moving through commissioning, with first concentrate expected in the first quarter and commercial production targeted later this year. “We’re turning to a cash flow inflection point,” Milau says, adding that stronger margins are allowing companies to fund growth, expand exploration, and return capital to shareholders through buybacks and dividends while maintaining balance sheet discipline.
