Montage Gold (TSXV: MAU; OTCQX: MAUTF) CEO Martino DiCiccio says construction at the company’s Kone Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire is advancing faster than expected, with first production now targeted for later this year following the addition of an oxide circuit. Speaking with Kitco Mining at Future Minerals Forum 2026 in Riyadh, DiCiccio said the change brings cash flow forward and improves project economics, noting that the company now expects to begin “production later this year,” ahead of earlier timelines. DiCiccio also highlighted significant exploration success across the Kone land package, where seven additional deposits have been added to the resource base since the original study. Several of these discoveries carry grades well above the main Kone deposit and sit within permitted areas, allowing flexibility to optimize the mine plan. With production expected to exceed 300,000 oz per year in the early years of a 16-year mine life, DiCiccio said Montage is positioning itself to transition rapidly from developer to multi-asset African gold producer.
