Higher gold prices sharpen economics at Newcore’s Enchi project

Newcore Gold (TSXV: NCAU) President and CEO Luke Alexander says the company is continuing to unlock exploration and development potential at its Enchi gold project in Ghana’s Bibiani Shear Zone as drilling expands and technical work advances toward a pre-feasibility study. Speaking with Kitco Mining’s Investment Trends, Alexander said the current 45,000 m drill program is “still just scratching the potential across our entry project,” noting that more than 25 targets have been identified across Enchi, with only nine drilled to date. Alexander said recent high-grade drill results, including visible gold, are helping validate the geological model and support the potential for higher-grade feeder zones similar to those seen at other major Ghanaian gold mines. Looking ahead to a pre-feasibility study targeted for June 2026, he outlined how optimization work and a higher gold price environment could materially improve project economics. Alexander said that for every $100 move in the gold price, the project’s after-tax net present value increases by roughly $50 million, highlighting Enchi’s leverage as Newcore advances toward development and evaluates next steps beyond the PFS stage.
