Americas Gold and Silver aligns with $12B project vault as antimony demand surges

Americas Gold and Silver (NYSE American: USAS; TSX: USA) is positioning itself as the only current U.S. source of antimony through a new Idaho processing joint venture tied to the U.S. government’s $12 billion Project Vault initiative. Speaking at the 35th BMO Global Metals, Mining & Critical Minerals Conference, CEO & Chairman Paul Huet said domestic supply remains structurally short as Washington seeks to build a strategic stockpile of critical minerals for defense and industrial use. “We need 50 million pounds of antimony per year,” Huet said, noting that additional production will also be required to support allied demand. Through a 51/49 joint venture with U.S. Antimony, the company plans to process concentrate from its Galena complex domestically, targeting roughly 3 million pounds annually as capacity scales. Huet said antimony production comes at no incremental mining cost while nearly $300 million raised over the past year has funded infrastructure upgrades, mechanized mining, and district consolidation, including the Crescent acquisition, as silver output ramps back toward 5 million ounces annually.
