West Point nears 1–3Moz gold resource at Arizona’s Gold Chain project

West Point Gold (TSXV: WPG) is advancing its Gold Chain project in Arizona’s Walker Lane Trend toward a maiden resource at the Tyro main zone, targeted for late Q3 to early Q4 2026. Speaking with Kitco Mining, President and CEO Derek Macpherson said the company has drilled nearly 25,000 meters to date and is completing a 20,000-meter program focused on defining the initial resource while testing additional targets. “We're on track to deliver a maiden resource at the Tyro main zone,” he said, noting the system is expected to remain open along strike and at depth. The company’s exploration target outlines 1–3 Moz grading 2–3 g/t gold over roughly one kilometer of strike, with new discoveries at Black Dyke and Sheep Trail supporting broader district-scale potential. Macpherson also pointed to a strong balance sheet following a January 2026 financing, with the company expecting to finish the current program with about $25 million. “We're not out chasing it right now,” he said, emphasizing the company’s ability to advance drilling and development without returning to the market.
