Fortuna targets 500,000 oz as record cash flow funds West Africa growth
Fortuna Mining (NYSE: FSM; TSX: FVI) is advancing a 60% gold production growth plan over the next 24 months as record Q1 2026 results strengthen its balance sheet and fund development without issuing shares. Speaking with Kitco Mining’s Kitco Spotlight, President and CEO Jorge Ganoza said Fortuna is “truly capturing the benefit of this high-price environment,” after reporting $120 million in net earnings and $174 million in free cash flow on production of about 72,000 gold equivalent ounces. Ganoza said the growth plan is driven by the Séguéla expansion in Côte d’Ivoire and Diamba Sud development in Senegal, which together support Fortuna’s path toward 500,000 oz of annual production. He also discussed Diamba Sud permitting and early works, exploration upside at both assets, West Africa government take, potential M&A opportunities in Africa, and share buybacks as the company balances growth with shareholder returns.
