Blackrock Silver advances Tonopah West toward 2027 decline
Blackrock Silver (TSXV: BRC; OTCQX: BKRRF) President and CEO Andrew Pollard joins Kitco Mining’s Kitco Spotlight with Paul Harris to discuss silver’s correction, the company’s 100%-owned Tonopah West silver-gold project in Nevada’s Walker Lane, and Blackrock’s path toward development. Pollard said silver’s long-term thesis remains intact, pointing to structural deficits, growing industrial demand and the advantage of high-grade projects in volatile markets. “High grade stories are all weather,” he said. Blackrock’s March 2026 PEA outlined average annual production of 7.1 million ounces silver equivalent over more than 11 years, with all-in sustaining costs of $7.44 per ounce and initial capital of $190 million. Pollard also discussed Tonopah West’s private-land permitting advantage, a planned exploration decline in Q3 2027, a minimum 50,000 tons of high-grade ore in 2028, potential non-dilutive U.S. government funding, the build-or-takeout question, and 800-meter step-outs that could test the next phase of resource growth.
