Gold Costs $1,500 to Mine and Sells Above $4,400, Aris Mining Says Its Growth Is Fully Funded | Oliver Dachsel
(Kitco News) Gold miners handed investors a powerful run and a hard correction this cycle, but Aris Mining says the economics at current prices speak for themselves. Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026, Oliver Dachsel, SVP Capital Markets at Aris Mining, said the company expects to fund its entire growth plan internally, stating, "we expect to be able to self-fund our growth. There's no need for external capital." His comments came the same day Aris reported first-half production up 31% from a year earlier, with revenue topping $680 million and a cash balance above $425 million at June 30. Dachsel said the sector is "a little bit like a coiled spring" after the pullback, arguing the drivers of the debasement trade "if anything, have intensified." He outlined the company's path from 257,000 ounces last year toward 500,000 ounces once the Segovia ramp-up and Marmato expansion are complete, with Marmato's first gold pour "on track" for Q4, and pointed to Colombia's incoming pro-mining government as constructive for the Soto Norte project, which the company projects would generate $7 billion in taxes and royalties over its mine life. A construction decision on the Toroparu project in Guyana is expected in early 2027.
