Video News/Rule Symposium 2026
Rick Rule sold 80% of his silver. Here's where he put the money | Rick Rule
(Kitco News) Veteran resource investor Rick Rule says he sold most of his physical silver earlier this year and rotated the proceeds into silver mining stocks, a move he frames as a case study in disciplined positioning. Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026 in Boca Raton, Rule said he sold roughly 80% of his physical silver after its parabolic run. "You need to sell parabolic up charts because they resolve to the downside," he said, explaining that the mining stocks were "priced discounting $35 silver in a $75 market," which he argued gave them better upside, downside, and sideways potential than the metal itself. Gold, by contrast, is a savings asset he does not sell. Rule said he saves in gold, holds liquidity in US dollars, invests in senior gold producers, and speculates in junior miners, and placed the gold bull market in its "sixth inning" with roughly a decade left to run. He reaffirmed his view that the US dollar will lose 75% of its purchasing power over the next 10 years, a decline he said could push gold up threefold in nominal terms. Rule also made the case that copper and uranium are among his highest-conviction positions, warning that decades of underinvestment mean "copper will be rationed by price," and argued that real inflation for the average family runs far higher than the official CPI, which he called "the CP-lie."
