Trust is being repriced as gold returns to the monetary system | Ronald-Peter Stöferle

Ronald-Peter Stöferle, Managing Partner at Incrementum and author of the In Gold We Trust report, says gold is moving through a remonetization cycle as central banks accumulate and repatriate bullion and confidence in traditional financial assets comes under pressure. Speaking with Kitco Mining at the 2026 Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek, Stöferle said “trust is being repriced” and argued that gold is regaining its role as a monetary asset. Stöferle also discussed stress in global bond markets, the potential revaluation of U.S. gold reserves, Bitcoin as “digital gold” and his “Corporate Gold Standard” case for miners holding part of their cash in bullion. He also outlined the bear case for gold and reaffirmed his long-term $8,900 target for the end of 2030.
