Argenta Silver targets 70–75M ounces at El Quevar | Joaquin Marias
Joaquin Marias, President & CEO of Argenta Silver, says preliminary metallurgical testwork at the company’s El Quevar project in Salta, Argentina, returned silver recoveries averaging roughly 95% across 15 samples, with some rougher tests reaching 99%. Speaking with Kitco Mining’s Paul Harris at the 2026 Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek, Marias said cleaner flotation also achieved 96% recovery to a concentrate grading 14,857 g/t silver, with optimization and blending still to come. Argenta is also expanding the Yaxtché deposit ahead of a targeted March 2027 resource update. Marias said management is aiming for 70 million to 75 million ounces, compared with roughly 50 million ounces currently, after drilling about 27,000 meters in 18 months. He also highlighted more than 20 exploration targets across the property, existing rail, road, gas and power infrastructure, and a C$24 million cash position.
