Allen Sabet, CEO of Mogotes Metals, says the company is preparing a much larger 2026–2027 drill campaign at its Filo Sur project in the Vicuña District after making discoveries at Albor and Cruz del Sur. Speaking with Kitco Mining’s Paul Harris at the 2026 Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek, Sabet said Albor returned 180 meters at 0.98% copper equivalent and called the discovery “just the beginning.” Mogotes plans up to 20,000 meters of drilling to follow up both discoveries and test additional targets across its roughly 100 km² Filo Sur land package. Sabet also discussed Rio Tinto’s US$15 million strategic investment, technical collaboration between the companies and Mogotes’ inclusion in the Argentina-Chile binational mining framework. He said the company plans to “take big swings” as it tests how far the broader Filo Sur system could extend.
