Liberty Gold rules out a sale strategy as Black Pine advances | Jon Gilligan

Jon Gilligan, President & CEO of Liberty Gold, says the company is focused on building its Black Pine oxide gold project in Idaho following completion of a feasibility study outlining a $411 million initial build, a 16-year mine life and average life-of-mine production of roughly 177,000 ounces of gold per year. Speaking with Kitco Mining’s Paul Harris at the 2026 Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek, Gilligan said Liberty has already started detailed engineering as it prepares the project for a potential construction decision. Black Pine is progressing through the U.S. Fast-41 permitting process, with the current timetable targeting a final Record of Decision in January 2028. Gilligan said Liberty is also advancing discussions around debt, streaming and equity for the $411 million build while remaining conscious of dilution. He said the company is not seeking a takeover and remains focused on building Black Pine, while also considering a potential future U.S. listing and continuing an up to 50,000-meter drilling program.
