Solaris moves Warintza closer to a 2027 build secision | Matthew Rowlinson

Solaris Resources is advancing the Warintza copper-gold-molybdenum project in Ecuador toward full permitting and a final investment decision in 2027. Speaking with Kitco Mining at the 2026 Mining Forum Americas, President and CEO Matthew Rowlinson said Solaris is targeting full permitting by the end of H1 2027 and a build decision in the back half of the year. He said roughly $100 million of liquidity should carry the company through that stage. The November 2025 PFS outlined approximately $3.7 billion in initial capital for a 160,000-tonne-per-day operation. Solaris is evaluating both standalone development and potential partnerships as it works through financing options. “We've got to do what's right for shareholders,” Rowlinson said. Beyond Warintza Central, the company is also advancing additional porphyry targets across the broader district.
