Stocks, housing and even gold crash together in the “greatest bubble in history,” warns Harry Dent

(Kitco News) - A famous forecaster who built his reputation calling the long boom of the 1990s says the US is at the peak of “the greatest bubble in history,” and that stocks, real estate and even gold will fall together when it bursts, according to Harry Dent, founder of HS Dent. Speaking with Kitco News, Dent said the entire boom since 2009 is “not real,” propped up by some $31 trillion in deficits and money injections, and predicted the S&P 500 could fall 54% in “the crash of a lifetime.” He argued that long-dated US Treasuries are “the only safe haven,” pointing to 2008 when Treasuries rose while gold fell 30 to 40%, and said he would sell gold and silver alongside stocks. Dent dismissed record central bank gold buying, including China adding roughly 740,000 ounces in September, calling China “the dumbest money on Earth” for inflating what he sees as the world’s largest real estate bubble. He also warned that home prices may never return to current levels “in anybody’s lifetime,” framing it as the end of a long demographic boom. Dent said he is selling his own home and expects a decade of deflation. SPONSORED BY KALSHI Trade the first CFTC-regulated gold and silver perpetuals in the U.S., 24/7, with no expiration date.
