Scotia Metals targets first lithium drilling in 2027 | Rodrigo Roso

Scotia Metals is preparing its first lithium drilling campaign at the Acadia Lithium Project in Nova Scotia, targeting early 2027 as spodumene prices recover and North American interest in critical minerals grows. Speaking with Kitco Mining's Paul Harris on October 5, 2026, CEO Rodrigo Roso outlined the company's approximately 372-square-kilometre land package, spanning an 80-kilometre prospective pegmatite trend near the Brazil Lake lithium deposit. At Green Wolf, Scotia has identified five spodumene-bearing boulder trains, with historical samples grading up to 3.40% lithium oxide. Recent exploration expanded one Green Wolf boulder cluster from 13 to 38 samples, with 20 exceeding 1% Li₂O. Scotia is using till sampling and geophysical surveys to refine targets for an initial 1,500-metre scout drilling program, followed by a potential 7,500-metre campaign in 2027. Roso also discussed Nova Scotia's established infrastructure, which he believes could reduce future development costs. Acadia remains an early-stage exploration project without an established mineral resource.
