Galiano Gold eyes higher 2027 output as hedge rolls off | Matt Badylak
Galiano Gold is targeting higher production and lower costs at the Asanko Gold Mine in Ghana as it heads into 2027. CEO Matt Badylak said the company expects production to move back toward roughly 190,000 ounces next year as higher-grade ore from Abore reaches the mill, while all-in sustaining costs are expected to fall into the low $2,000s per ounce. The company’s 60,000-ounce hedge at a ceiling of about $3,000 gold expires in December, leaving 2027 production exposed to market prices and potentially boosting cash flow. Galiano is also investing $30 million in exploration in 2026, with a Q1 2027 reserve and resource update expected at Esaase. Longer term, Badylak said Nkran could push production well above 250,000 ounces in peak years, while management continues to target eventual growth into a mid-tier gold producer.
