Maple Gold targets 2027 economic study for potential two-mine complex

Maple Gold Mines is advancing plans for a potential two-mine gold complex at its Douay/Joutel project in Quebec, targeting a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) in Q2 2027. Speaking with Kitco Mining's Ernest Hoffman at XPLOR 2026 in Montreal, Alex Rodriguez, Senior VP of Corporate Development and Strategy, discusses the company's updated mineral resources and plans to incorporate approximately 57,000 meters of drilling into its next resource estimate. The company's strategy combines Douay's open-pit potential with higher-grade underground resources at Joutel. Rodriguez outlines plans for additional assay results through early 2027, alongside winter exploration targeting potential satellite deposits. The planned resource update and economic assessment are intended to evaluate a possible development path for the combined project.
