MUMBAI, Jan 30 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 169.51 points, or 0.29%,
to 59,500.41, while the broader NSE index gained 41.75
points, or 0.24%, to 17,646.1, led by gains in financials ahead
of the Union budget, while some Adani Group shares also ended
higher. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.04% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 81.50 per dollar, as choppiness in equity
markets soured mood at the beginning of a week packed with the
Union budget and global central bank meetings. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.04
rupees, with yield up 1 bps at 7.4004% vs previous close of
7.3874%, as investors remain cautious ahead of federal budget
announcement. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was
unchanged at 6.70%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 3 bps to 6.25%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 90 bps at
5.55% against 6.45% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.50%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.4264%.
