SOUTH AFRICAN MARKETS South Africa's rand weakened on Monday ahead of a slew of domestic economic data this week. GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares traded cautiously and bonds nursed small losses on Tuesday as investors braced for an eventful week that includes central bank meetings, earnings reports and key U.S. economic data. WALL STREET Major U.S. stock indexes sank on Monday, weighed down by declines in technology and other megacap shares, as investors looked toward a week of major central bank meetings and earnings reports. GOLD Gold prices edged up on Tuesday, headed for their third straight month of gains, while market participants awaited the U.S. Federal Reserve policy decision later this week amid hopes for a less-aggressive interest rate hike.
