MADRID, Feb 1 (Reuters) - Spain's BBVA on
Wednesday said its fourth quarter net profit rose 17.6% from the
same quarter in 2021 due to a strong performance in Mexico, its
main market.
The country's second biggest lender by market value booked a
net profit of 1.58 billion euros ($1.72 billion) in the October
to December period, compared to 1.34 billion euros in the same
period a year ago.
Analysts polled by Reuters expected a net profit of 1.54
billion euros.
