MUMBAI, Feb 3 (Reuters) - STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 909.64 points, or 1.52%,
to 60,841.88, while the broader NSE index gained 250.65
points, or 1.42%, to 17,861.05 aided by a rise in financials and
optimism that the rate hike cycle may be near the end after
global central banks hinted at inflation easing, while an
intraday rebound in key Adani group stocks added to gains. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.42% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 81.83 per dollar as equities staged a
recovery. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.88
rupees, with yield down 2 bps at 7.2776% vs previous close of
7.2959% with the benchmark yield posting its biggest weekly drop
since November as borrowing target undershot estimates, while
the government sold a new 10-year note. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
3 bps at 6.61%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 1 bps to 6.15%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.10% against 6.10% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.06%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 5.9978%.
