BUDAPEST, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Hungary's industrial output rose by an annual 2.0% in December based on
preliminary unadjusted data, above analyst forecasts for a 0.5%
decline in output, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on
Tuesday.
In November industrial output rose by a revised 0.6%.
Adjusted for the effect of working days, output grew by 5.7%
year-on-year in December, while in monthly terms, it rose by
3.8%, the KSH said.
"Compared to crude (unadjusted) data, the significant
difference is due to the fact that there were two less
working-days in December 2022 than in December 2021," the KSH
said.
The KSH said output in the vehicle manufacturing
industry, having the largest weight, as well as electrical
equipment increased significantly. At the same time the volume
of production dropped in the computer, electronic and optical
products segments, and also in the sectors of food production,
beverages and tobacco products.
In 2022 the volume of industrial production was 5.8% higher
than in 2021.
