POLITICS Italy intends to use funds coming from the European Union under the so-called REPowerEU plan to completely wean itself off Russian gas and turn the country into an energy hub for the bloc, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a statement. ECONOMY Bank of Italy releases January data on Target 2 liabilities and European Central Bank funding to Italian banks. DEBT Italy's Treasury said it would offer a new inflation-linked BTP Italia bond between March 6-9. Treasury announces sale of 12-month BOT bills, with relative amounts to be auctioned on Feb. 10. COMPANIES (*) TELECOM ITALIA The non-binding offer for TIM's landline grid submitted by U.S. investment firm KKR has a duration of four weeks and it will expire on Feb. 28, Italy's biggest phone group said on Monday.


Italian state lender CDP is talking "at a very preliminary stage" with other funds, including U.S. investment fund Blackstone , for a possible bid for TIM's grid, daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported.


(*) CNH INDUSTRIAL The Italian-American farming and construction machine maker started a second tranche of $50 million of its share buyback program, it said on Monday.


ENEL The Italian energy group has entered exclusive talks to sell a stake in 3Sun, its photovoltaic panel production site in Sicily, Chief Executive Francesco Starace said on Monday. (*) MONTE DEI PASCHI The bank is considering selling some MPS Leasing & Factoring's assets, including non-performing credit leasing, daily MF reported. INTESA SANPAOLO Italy's biggest bank will launch a second 1.7 billion euro share buyback on Feb. 13, it said in a statement.

(*) LAZIO Lazio missed the chance to go third in the Serie A standings after being held to a 1-1 draw at Hellas Verona on Monday. IPO, EUROGROUP LAMINATIONS Investors vying for a slice of the Italian industrial company in its initial public offering (IPO) have been told to place orders in the top half of the proposed price range to avoid being outbid, a bookrunner note said on Monday. DIARY Tenaris unveils its decarbonisation strategy (0800 GMT) in an online event held by Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Rome, Economy ministry holds presentation of the 2023 numismatic collection with Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti (1400 GMT). Rome, The European House Ambrosetti and Eni hold official presentation of the strategy study "Proposal for a Zero Carbon technology roadmap" (1500 GMT); expected attendees include Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi and Environment and Energy Security Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. Milan, conference "Europe: (which) growth wanted?" with EU Economy Commissioner Head of Cabinet Marco Buti, Marcegaglia Holding President and CEO Emma Marcegaglia (1400 GMT).
