Prudential Financial reports drop in fourth-quarter profit

Feb 7 (Reuters) - Prudential Financial Inc reported a drop in fourth-quarter profit on Tuesday as a global market rout pressured the life and health insurer's assets under management.

The insurer's after-tax adjusted operating income was $907 million, or $2.42 per share, in the three months ended Dec. 31, compared with $1.23 billion, or $3.18 per share, a year earlier.
