BUDAPEST, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Hungary posted a foreign trade deficit of 154 million euros in December, below analyst forecasts for a 954 million euros shortfall, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Wednesday. However, in the whole of 2022, the trade deficit widened to 8.293 billion euros from a surplus of 1.623 billion euros in 2021 largely because the country's energy imports surged last year.

Exports rose by an annual 12.3% in euro terms in December, while imports grew by 9.9% year-on-year, the KSH said. Dec 2022 Nov 2022 Dec 2021 Jan-Dec 2022 -154 -1,415 -358 -8,293 (Reporting by Krisztina Than)
