LISBON, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Portugal's unemployment rate
rose to 6.5% in the fourth quarter in 2022 from 5.8% in the
previous three months and from 6.3% in the fourth quarter 2021,
official data showed on Wednesday.
For the whole year, the average rate fell to 6.0% from 6.6%
in 2021.
Between October and December, the total number of those
unemployed rose 12.1% to 342,700 people from the previous three
months.
The total workforce rose 0.2% from the previous quarter to
5.2 million people.
