Feb 8 (Reuters) - Russia's finance ministry said on
Wednesday that the basic parameters of its tax system, including
VAT and personal income tax, would remain unchanged this year,
but rejected an idea from a major Russian business union arguing
against a possible windfall tax.
The Bell, an online news outlet, reported earlier that the
Russian government had asked businesses to make a one-off
payment to the budget in December, but major business union RSPP
rejected this, proposing instead to raise company tax rates by
0.5%.
