MUMBAI, Feb 8 (Reuters) - The Reserve Bank of India
raised its key policy repo rate by an expected 25 basis points
on Wednesday, but it surprised markets by leaving the door open
to more tightening, saying core inflation remained high.
The monetary policy committee raised the key lending rate,
or repo rate, to 6.50%.
The standing deposit facility rate and the marginal standing
facility rate were also adjusted higher by the same margin.
