LONDON, Feb 9 (Reuters) - The Bank of England said it
had not sold the full 650 million pounds ($791 million) of
short-dated government bonds which it offered at auction on
Thursday, after deciding not to allocate 28.8 million pounds of
gilts.
The BoE accepted bids for 621.2 million pounds of gilts and
had received a total of 713.0 million pounds.
"The Bank has exercised its discretion not to allocate Stg
28.8 mln of bids in today's operation," it said.
The unallocated gilts would be sold at future auctions, it
added.
