Swiss stocks - Factors to watch on February 9

ZURICH/BERLIN, Feb 9 (Reuters) - The Swiss blue-chip SMI was seen opening 0.12% higher at 11,289 points on Thursday, according to premarket indications by bank Julius Baer . Here are some of the main factors that may affect Swiss stocks: CREDIT SUISSE Credit Suisse Group reported its worst annual losssince the 2008 global financial crisis, as its clients withdrew tens of billions, warning that a further "substantial" loss would come this year.


Credit Suisse said it was progressing to carve out CS First Boston by acquiring The Klein Group for $175 million to be paid in the form of a convertible note. SWISSCOM Swisscom reported full-year net income of 1.6 billion Swiss francs, down 12.5% from a year earlier, as the former state telecoms monopoly faced pressures from rising inflation and supply chain bottlenecks. ROCHE Bill Anderson, most recently the head of Roche's pharmaceuticals division, will succeed Werner Baumann as chief executive at Germany's Bayer on June 1, the company said. SIKA The European Commission has given conditional approval for the proposed acquisition of Germany-based MBCC by Swiss chemicals company Sika, the EU executive body said on Wednesday.
