events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Monday.
The lira traded at 18.8250 against the dollar
early on Monday, little changed from Friday's close of 18.8360.

until Feb. 15 in the wake of last week's earthquakes.

Asian shares slid and the dollar rose on Monday as investors
hunkered down for U.S. inflation data that could jolt the
outlook for interest rates globally, while accelerating or
reversing the recent spike in bond yields.
EARTHQUAKE
Rescuers pulled more survivors from the rubble on Sunday,
nearly a week after one of the worst earthquakes to hit Turkey
and Syria, as Turkish authorities sought to maintain order
across the disaster zone and began legal action over building
collapses.
With chances of finding more survivors growing more remote,
the toll in both countries from Monday's earthquake and major
aftershocks rose above 33,000 and looked set to keep growing. It
was the deadliest quake in Turkey since 1939.
CURRENT ACCOUNT The central bank will announce current account data for
December (0700 GMT).

parties to immediately grant humanitarian access to all those in
need across the country after Monday's earthquakes.

of Malatya (0940 GMT).
