BRASILIA, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Brazilian President Luiz
Inacio Lula da Silva said on Thursday he is not interested in
fighting with central bank governor Roberto Campos Neto, days
after tensions between them flared over disagreements on the
country's interest rates.
"As president, I am not interested in fighting with a
citizen who is president of the central bank, who I know little
about," he said, in an excerpt from the interview to CNN Brazil.
Lula also said Campos Neto "has to know" that Brazil should
govern "for the people who need it most," adding that he would
like Campos Neto to accompany him when his government visits the
"most miserable" places in the country.
